Need some help with the talent buying process?
Not getting the level of entertainment you think your venue (and budget) deserves?
Want someone to go to bat for you and your venue, negotiate on your behalf, and get a fair price?
If you answered, “yes” to any of these questions, then we encourage you to reach out. Let our professional talent buying services be of assistance to you. Give us a call today at (615) 852-0330!
How can your services save us money?
We routinely work with all the agencies in town, often focusing our efforts on specific routed dates for national artists. This way, you get the best bang for your buck. By utilizing our industry connections to seek out these available dates (i.e. “avails”), we’re able to consult with our clients immediately and take advantage of any routed opportunities (which often means discounted pricing). With so many bookings contracted year in and year out, Divided Sky maintains a strong pulse on the actual pricing levels within the industry. Unfortunately, the price that an Artist might be willing to accept to perform is often not what’s quoted by their agency/representative. That’s where we come in. We negotiate on your behalf to secure the artist you want at a price you’re happy with… and that’s how we’re able to consistently save you money.
How do you get paid?
We get paid either based on a mutually-agreeable percentage with you, or a flat fee. Not only are we providing a professional service, but in most cases, the amount we charge is significantly less than the amount we save our clients. We can’t tell you how many times potential clients have contacted us only after they’ve been burned. Don’t let that be you! We have over 15 years of talent-buying experience and are here to help answer any questions we can, as well as provide you with our knowledge and expertise. Sometimes clients prefer we buy for them on just a “gig to gig” or “year to year” basis, while others want a longer term agreement. It’s completely up to you. We are flexible and try to make it as easy as possible for our clients.
Can you buy entertainment for us?
Yes, absolutely! Whether you’re a club or casino featuring nightly entertainment, a festival wanting to secure a lineup of two or three day’s worth of artists, a corporate event demanding talent just once-a-year, or a bride and groom looking for a high-energy wedding band, we can help. Private party? No problem! No budget is too small or too large, and at Divided Sky Entertainment, we pride ourselves on routinely securing artists within, often times under, your budget. With a proven track record for securing quality entertainment, not only can we help you decide on the right artist or band, but we’ll also handle all of the negotiating and contractual paperwork.
How are you different than other agencies or talent buyers?
We are about client satisfaction. Not everybody is. As a small boutique agency, our survival relies on building relationships, repeat business, word of mouth, and having a rock-solid reputation. We dot every “i” and cross every “t”. We act on avails quickly (sometimes time is of the essence!). Our offer forms are thorough. Contracts are delivered in a timely manner. Riders are reviewed. Deposits are on time. You get the point. While not every show or hard-ticketed event is going to be profitable, we take pride in at least giving it a chance to be. That starts with securing quality talent for our clients at a fair price. If the event is marketed effectively to a targeted audience, and the artist enjoys the experience, then everybody wins. Plain and simple. Artists must be compensated fairly and venues must be given a legitimate shot at having a successful show.
Who are some of the national acts you’ve booked before?
In addition to the many corporate/variety bands and tribute acts we’ve provided to our clients, we’ve also secured an abundance of national-level entertainment, including: Brantley Gilbert, Brett Eldredge, Lee Ann Womack, Tracy Byrd, Eli Young Band, Shooter Jennings, Uncle Kracker, The Bellamy Brothers, Shenandoah, Lorrie Morgan, Love & Theft, Gloriana, Colt Ford, Corey Smith, Craig Campbell, Phil Vassar, Lee Roy Parnell, Josh Gracin, Ty Herndon, Darryl Worley, Craig Wayne Boyd, Chris Knight, Roger Creager, Zane Williams, Little Texas, Bucky Covington, Elizabeth Cook, Maggie Rose, David Ball, Michael Twitty, Building 429, Mallary Hope, Sara Groves, Special Consensus, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Johnny Cash’s legendary Tennessee Three, Jackyl, The Lacs, Big Smo, Bubba Sparxxx, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and many more!
Why Divided Sky Entertainment?
“Our unique vision strives to bridge the gap between the monetary needs of touring artists, and the performance fees venues can actually afford in order to keep their doors open. We are of the philosophy that repeat business and return dates are in everybody’s best interest.”
-Michael Krejci, President of DSE
Being in the heart of Music City, Divided Sky has access to some of the greatest entertainers in the world. While we can’t guarantee a “sell-out” crowd, we can promise you that we’ll do everything in our power to land you the right act at a price you are content with. And if you’re already satisfied with the level of talent you’re getting, then maybe you’d like a small, personalized Nashville boutique agency to handle the talent-buying process for you. Some of our clients just want to be freed from the daily grind and exorbitant amount of effort that goes into negotiating/securing national-level entertainment. If that’s you, or if you’d just like to inquire about our services, please call us today at (615) 852-0330 or email Michael@DividedSkyEntertainment.com.
In addition to talent-buying, we also provide direct booking services for a very select number of artists and bands. The type of acts we are interested in working with are those that display the utmost professionalism and who can consistently “deliver” an engaging and memorable performance wherever we send them. The goal is to hit it out of the park, and for us to negotiate a return date.
As a small and specialized boutique agency in the heart of Music City, we take great pride in on our reputation, our relationships, and repeat business.
If we are going to “pitch” an artist or band, then they not only need to be outstanding at what they do, but they also need to have the proper promotional material in place. Club owners, entertainment directors, talent buyers, band committees, and promoters are constantly bombarded with booking requests and submissions, thus in order for us (the booking agent) to have the absolute best chance of securing a date for you (the artist), then we must have top-shelf promotional material to “sell” you. Promotional material needs to be effective in order to help us visually and aurally convince the buyer as to why you should be hired. Otherwise, it’s not worth our time, or the time of the person we’re pitching you to.
We need to be equipped with high-quality videos. These can be live as long as they are HD and of good audio quality (multiple angles preferred)… no shaky videos, no loud talking in the background, no empty dance floors or seats, no heads in the way, please. A video montage 4-6 mins in length is often ideal, and it’s good to include a cover song or two, or three, or four (if we’re pitching you to a casino for a 3 or 4 set cover gig, then your promotional material needs to include cover tunes!). As much as we love original music, unless you have singles on the radio or are supporting a national tour, then the majority of shows we’d contract you for would be cover gigs. Not all, but most.
Some regional artists/bands we work with have separate promotional material for their original gigs and cover gigs. So if you or your band play a lot of original music but also want to supplement your income with some cover gigs (which typically pay more until you reach a certain level), then it might be a good idea for you to have two different online EPKs… an agent-friendly one featuring your best cover tunes and the other designed to promote your original music/career. If you are a national artist with well-known songs, then obviously your situation is different. In that case, whether you are in between signings with the “majors” or looking to go a different route, we’d certainly welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how we can supplement your tour schedule.
Impressive, growing social media numbers/engagement and content is a given, so in addition to high-quality videos, we also encourage you to have both low (web) and hi-res promotional photos, a brief professional bio, a cover song list (if applicable), some high-quality audio samples, and a stage-plot/input list ready to go.
The booking relationships we’ve developed have taken months and years to cultivate; therefore we are very selective as to the artists and bands we choose to align ourselves with.
Fairs, festivals, clubs, casinos, colleges, theaters, performing arts centers, and private/corporate events routinely rely on our ability to provide professional and superior entertainment. Thus, when we secure a date for an artist or band we’re working with, we expect three things from them… 1) To deliver a first-class, professional performance for the client 2) To get asked back, and 3) To be an ambassador for Divided Sky Entertainment.
If you are an artist or band (or representative of one) that distinctly exhibits the characteristics above, is responsible on the road, and has all the necessary promotional material in place, please feel free to contact us for further consideration regarding our booking services. Please note due to the extremely high level of correspondence we receive, all inquiries (although reviewed) often may not receive a reply. Thank you for your understanding.
