The Roads Below

The Roads Below blends elements of ‘90s rock with 2000s country radio charm, crafting a sound that’s both heartland and new Nashville. Formed by singer/songwriter and Arkansas native, Phil Evans, and Los Angeles-based guitarist, Max Martilik, the two moved to Music City and didn’t waste any time. Upon linking up with bassist, Seth Van Dusen, to complete a newly written catalogue of songs Evans had been working on, they self-released their debut single, “I Want Us,” in 2016. The track instantly gained attention, garnering over 14 million streams organically without any major promotion or playlists.

The Roads Below is a promising act on the country music scene, having grown their fan base organically through word of mouth, live shows, and streaming (without any mainstream press or radio play).

In April of 2021, CMT took notice of the band’s popular YouTube channel and added their original song, “Bricks,” to its featured video lineup. The poignant visual and powerful melody reflects upon the resilience of the Nashville community following a string of devastating hardships in 2020. The song, highlighted by frontman Evans’ raw, honest storytelling, continues to inspire viewers and listeners alike, providing a message of hope, reflection, and unity. In the fall of 2022, The Roads Below released their first full-length album, Cigarette with Mom, and performed a string of sold-out shows in Nashville.

With a rapidly growing fanbase of 90K monthly listeners, The Roads Below continues to meet listener demand in 2026 by releasing single after single and an assortment of artistic videos. They’ve already opened for artists like the Eli Young Band, Parmalee, Matt Stell, Elvie Shane, Niko Moon, Tyler Braden, and Mitchell Tenpenny, and are excited to bring their infectious energy and thrilling live show to the masses.
